CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The highest PowerBall jackpot in nearly a year is on the line Wednesday night.
Anyone who correctly matches all six numbers, including the PowerBall number, will walk away with $317 million.
If the winner chooses the cash option, the lump sum payment would be $220.6 million.
The grand prize has been climbing since the last time the jackpot was hit in late November. There have been 18 consecutive PowerBall drawings without a jackpot winner.
PowerBall is played in 44 states, including both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as well as Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
