PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The 2015 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championship will be held in Rhode Island.
The event, hosted by the Warwick Figure Skaters, will run from Feb. 25 through Feb. 28 and will be held at the Dunkin Donuts Center.
The event features 96 teams and nearly 1,800 skaters, who will compete in eight divisions including juvenile, intermediate, novice, junior, senior, collegiate, adult and masters.
Competition begins on Feb. 26 and official practice begins the day before.
Teams qualify through placements at their respective sectional championships or through a bye due to an international assignment.
The 2015 U.S. World Synchronized Team will be selected at the end of the event from the senior level to represent the U.S. at the 2015 World Synchronized Skating Championships, April 10-11, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
