PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Two suspects in a deadly shooting in North Providence were arraigned in Providence Superior Court Friday.
24-year-old Dari Garcia and 19-year-old Viclei Hernandez were indicted last week on murder, multiple counts of assault, burglary and weapon charges. Both men pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors say the pair shot and killed 26-year-old Richard Catalano after breaking into his North Providence home on August 17, 2014.
Both men are also accused of assaulting Catalano’s mother and friend. Lorie Catalano was shot and had one of her fingers bitten off.
Investigators say Garcia was the gunman and Hernandez already admitted that he drove Garcia to the Elliot Avenue home to commit the crime.
Both men remain held without bail.
