(MEDIA GENERAL) — The Han Solo and Indiana Jones references are obvious after Harrison Ford, 72, crashed his plane Thursday on a California golf course.

The accomplished pilot was flying a World War II-era plane when it lost engine power shortly after takeoff from Santa Monica Municipal Airport near Los Angeles. He is recovering in the hospital Friday after the crash.

The actor’s son, William Shatner, and a bevy of other celebrities took to Twitter to wish Ford well.
