Snow hinders firefighters at Woonsocket house fire

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — On Friday night, fire crews in Woonsocket responded to a blaze on Glendale Avenue.

Officials say the fire started just before 7 p.m. in the basement of the home and that the flames spread to the walls.

No one was injured, but  the snow prevented crews from getting a ladder truck down the street, officials said.

According to firefighters, it was helpful that the homeowner had dug out his fire hydrant after the last snowfall.
