PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Matt Lorito and junior Nick Lappin of the Brown men’s hockey team were both named Second Team All-Ivy, released by the league office Thursday afternoon.
Lorito earned All-Ivy honors for the third straight season, appearing in 27 games primarily at wing on the team’s top line. He finished with 21 points on 10 goals and 11 assists, and led the Bears with 16 points in ECAC play, in addition to a team-high six assists in Ivy League games. Lorito has 104 career points, including 46 goals and 58 assists, and recently became the 24th member of Brown’s 100-point club. He currently ranks first among active Ivy League players and third among active ECAC players with 104 career points, clocking in at 0.90 points per game.
Lappin picked up All-Ivy accolades for the second time in as many seasons, playing 27 games at wing on the team’s top line. He led the Bears in the regular season with 11 goals, including six goals in the final eight games to close out the season, and posted a team-high five goals in Ivy League contests. He also added a pair of power-play goals. Lappin has 70 career points behind 31 goals and 39 assists in 90 games played over the last three seasons.
The Bears open up the ECAC Tournament on Friday, March 6 when they visit sixth-seeded Harvard in a best-of-three first round matchup at 7 p.m. All three games will be played at the Bright-Landry Center in Cambridge, Mass.
