Several drug suspects arrested in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) – New Bedford police made several drug arrests Wednesday night.

Police arrested Shaun Jones, 29, after police stopped him for motor vehicle violations near Route 18 and Conway St. around 5:15 p.m.

Police say he was in possession of a sheath with three knives in it, 22 bags of crack cocaine and $750.

More than an hour later, members of the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau were conducting surveillance in the area of Belleville Ave. and Coggeshall St., when they spotted an alleged drug transaction taking place between three men.

Dominique King, 30, Vincent Purdie, 27, and Ian Goudreau were arrested on drug trafficking charges.

Police say they seized 47 grams of cocaine, four Oxycontin tablets, and approximately $4,000 in cash.
