Classical High School website hacked

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Classical High School’s website has been targeted by hackers who claim to support the terror group ISIS.

The school’s homepage appears untouched. However, when visitors to the site click on various links, they’re taken to a black screen with a logo for the Islamic State, and a message that reads in part: “The Islamic State List to restore the right of Muslims who have been killed by your governments savage and unjust.” The page also declares “I love ISIS” and “I love jihad”.

According to the compromised site, a group called Team System Dz is behind the hack. The group has been responsible for similar hacks around the world in recent months.

Christina O’Reilly, spokesperson for the Providence School Department, told Eyewitness News that both school officials and the Providence Police Department are aware of the situation and are actively investigating. The website, designed by an outside vendor, is hosted on a external system and there has been no effect on any other school computers. That vendor is working to repair the damage.
