COLUMBUS, Ohio (WPRI) – The Providence College Friars now know their opponent in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The Dayton Flyers beat the Boise State Broncos in a close game in Round 1 of the tournament Wednesday night.
The Friars were the last team in the second round to find out who they would be playing.
Providence coach Ed Cooley told Eyewitness News he plans on using his team’s experience from playing in the tournament in 2014 against Dayton.
He said his team started putting together a game plan as soon as the game ended.
Cooley said having to watch two teams has been disruptive, different and uncharacteristic.
The Friars will hold their first team practice Thursday morning at Ohio State University.
Tip-off for the matchup between Providence and Dayton will be 9:57 pm Friday night.
