WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — The 7th Annual Eyewitness News Job Fair is taking place Thursday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event provides the opportunity for local job seekers to personally meet with prospective employers actively looking to fill open positions. By collaborating with various state agencies, Eyewitness News is able to bring a variety of employment sources and job seeking information to the public.
A big crowd is expected. Warwick Police said they’re preparing for as many as 4,000 people to turn out for the event. If you’re planning on attending, try to arrive early and don’t park on the side streets. Police said you will be ticketed.
“We are going to have some parking restrictions in place. The neighborhood across the street from The Crowne Plaza. we’ve posted no parking signs there. Mainly because of a safety concern, because the road there is narrow because of all the snow,” Mike Gilbert of the Warwick Police Department said.
Free satellite parking and shuttle service will be available at Warwick Mall.
More than 90 companies are expected at the event. The job fair is free, open to the public and brings together local employers and qualified job seekers in a well-organized and professional setting.
