Kent Hospital teams with Eagle Scout for pet food drive project

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Kent Hospital is teaming with a West Warwick Eagle Scout to help collect pet food and supplies for elderly Rhode Island pet owners.

As part of his Eagle Scout project, Bishop Hendricken High School student Anthony Denommee is collecting donations for Kent Hospital’s Food Four Paws program, which delivers pet food to those in need through Meals on Wheels.

Donations are being accepted through the second week of April, at the following locations:

  • Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, West Warwick
  • St. Anthony’s Church, West Warwick

  • St. Joseph’s Church, West Warwick
  • Stop & Shop, Warwick
  • Rumford Pet Center, Warwick
  • Kent County YMCA
  • Bishop Hendricken High School

Items needed include canned or dry dog food (eight-pound bags or smaller), canned or dry cat food (eight-pound bags or smaller), kitty litter, indoor bird seed, and any other small pet treats.

Since its creation, Food Four Paws has collected nearly fifteen tons of food.
