11 adults, 2 kids displaced from double house fires

Two side-by-side triple-decker houses catch fire on Saturday.

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) – The red cross is assisting 11 adults and two children after their homes inside two side-by-side triple decker houses caught fire Sunday afternoon.

Fall River firefighters responded to the area of Irving and Easton Streets shortly after 2:00p.m. Saturday.

Crews worked to hours to put the flames out. Firefighters from neighboring towns were called in for station coverage during the incident.

Fall River District Fire Chief Doug Sullivan confirmed to Eyewitness News that one person was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital with burn injuries.

The victim’s exact condition is unknown.

Several cats were also saved from the fire.
