Gas prices stay flat at $2.36 per gallon in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gas prices in Rhode Island have stayed flat in the past week, averaging $2.36 for a gallon of regular.

AAA Northeast says in its weekly survey released Monday that the average price of a gallon of gas remained the same as last week, although it’s 9 cents less than a month ago.

A year ago, the price was $1.23 higher, or 52 percent, at $3.59 per gallon.

The price in Rhode island is 3 cents lower than the national average of $2.39 per gallon.
