Daughter’s dream helps Warwick man win lottery

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Thanks to a family member’s very vivid night dream, a Warwick man is thousands of dollars richer.

After the man’s daughter told him about a dream she had with the numbers 1-1-3-7, he decided to place a $5 combo bet using those numbers for Friday night’s draw for The Rhode Island Lottery’s Numbers game.

Turns out his ticket was a winner and earned the man $27,080. He said he’ll use the money to renovate his daughter’s bathroom.

The ticket was purchased at Rumi Wine & Spirits in Providence.

Meanwhile, a man visiting Rhode Island to see family and friends for Easter also won big in the state lottery.

Robert Prodnick Jr. from Youngstown, OH, claimed a $50,000 instant ticket after his aunt passed out Easter bags with lottery tickets at his family’s Easter brunch.

He said he originally thought his ticket was worth $2,000 and had planned to buy lunch for everyone. But, then he found out it was $50,000 and said “he thought he was going to have a heart attack.”

Prodnick plans to pay off his car, buy his nephew a very nice first birthday gift and put the rest in the bank.

Snacks Plus in Cranston sold the winning ticket.
