Johnston House Fire Saturday Morning

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) – One man is in the hospital after a house fire broke out early Saturday morning.

Fire crews arrived to Johnston’s Pine Lane and helped all family members out of the building, with some injuries.

The family of three includes a 20-year-old son who was brought to the hospital.

Eyewitness News spoke with the Batallion Chief Ronald Castelli who said, “All the guys that work here at Johnston and no matter what fire department…getting there as soon as possible and getting that person or persons out of the house is the most important thing to us.”

The young man in the hospital is suffering burn wounds, but is expected to survive.

The town of Johnston and state fire marshals are investigating the cause.
