PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — The Pawtucket Red Sox honored their late president and co-owner on Memorial Day.
A ceremony was held before Monday’s game in honor of Jim Skeffington — who passed away last week at the age of 73.
He died while jogging near his home in Barrington.
Monday marked the team’s first home game since Skeffington’s death.
During the game, the players wore patches on their sleeves with the initials “JJS” in memory of the former president.
Skeffington is survived by his two children, James Jr. and Erinn, as well as seven grandchildren.
