MEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — Police are searching for a suspect in an early morning stabbing at a Tufts University fraternity house that sent two people to the hospital.

Tufts spokeswoman Kim Thurler says the stabbing occurred on Sunday at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house on Professors Row, a street that runs through the Boston-area campus.

Tufts officials had asked students to seek shelter and lock their doors around 5 a.m. Sunday while police responded to reports of an assault. The shelter in place for the Somerville/Medford campus had been lifted around 8 a.m.

Somerville Police spokesman Lt. Joseph McCain says there are no suspects in custody yet and that investigators are speaking with witnesses.

The conditions of the stabbing victims are unknown. Thurler says the victims are not affiliated with Tufts.
