PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Empire Beauty School is closing its Providence campus, a school spokesperson told Eyewitness News.
Angela Watson said the local campus will be closed due to low enrollment numbers — she said there are currently 82 students who attend the school.
According to Watson, displaced students will have a two different options for how they continue their education. Students can either attend the Warwick school, about 11 miles away from the current location in Providence, or they may transfer schools with a prorated tuition.
Watson said transcripts will also be provided — and a decision has not been made about the fate of the Providence campus teachers.
Empire is closing five other schools — including Lowell and Hyannis, Mass. — as well as Waterville, Maine, Township, NJ, and Exton, PA.
