CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A 17-year-old is recovering after he crashed his car in Cranston Monday morning.
According to police, the teen was driving south on Cranston Street just before 11 a.m. when he lost control of his car and hit a parked pickup truck near the intersection with Taylor Street. The crash caused the car to roll over on to its hood.
The teen was the only person in the car and he was wearing his seat belt, according to police. He was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital to be treated for a suspected concussion.
Police believe speed was a factor, and said the driver will be cited. They also noted he had his driver’s license, and was not still on a learner’s permit.
