SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — A South Kingstown man has been arrested for indecent solicitation of a minor, Rhode Island State Police Colonel Steven O’Donnell announced Friday.
According to police, William Schock, 20, of Kenyon Avenue, was arrested Friday by the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. He was also charged with electronic dissemination of indecent material to a minor.
An investigation was conducted after Coventry police officers were alerted that a man was soliciting a 13-year-old on social media. During the investigation, police said Schock was identified as the alleged suspect.
Schock was arraigned Friday at Fourth District Court in South Kingstown and was released on $5,000 personal recognizance — with the conditions that he have no contact with children or the victim.
He is due back in court in July.
