DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Police in Dartmouth are warning owners of scooters to keep their vehicles locked up, after one incident involving a swapped ignition.

Officers said Tuesday they recently took a report of a scooter that had been stolen. The scooter was recovered within two hours of the report being filed.

But, the original ignition had been replaced. It’s a very easy change crooks can make (and costs as little as $10).

They’re advising scooter owners to keep them locked up appropriately.
