BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) — Funeral plans are now in place for a Bristol police officers who died in Costa Rica earlier this month.
A wake for Patrolman Richard Jean-Georges will be held Thursday, June 18, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home.
The Bristol police officer was found dead off a small beach town in Costa Rica, after being swept away by a rip tide in Jaco waters, according to The Tico Times.
Jean-Georges, a three-year veteran of the department, was vacationing with his family in the Central American country when he went missing.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with expenses.
