Police: Suspect may have worn wig during Warwick bank robbery

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Warwick police are on the lookout for a male suspect after the Coastway Community Bank on Post Road was robbed Tuesday morning.

According to police, the suspect entered the bank alone at about 9:45 a.m. and demanded money from two tellers. He then fled on foot south on Post Road with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect did not show a weapon, and no one was injured during the incident.

Police said the man is believed to be in his late 40s or early 50s, stands about 5-foot-7, with a slender build and dark-colored, shoulder-length hair, which may have been a wig.

He was wearing a black or dark blue North Face jacket, black baseball hat, camouflage mask, sunglasses, black gloves, blue jeans, and sneakers.
