PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A U.S. congressman from Rhode Island is working to bring new resources to senior citizens.
“This is my fourth annual Senior Resources show. We’ll have over 50 providers there from the Department of Elderly Affairs to the Social Security Administration to Rhode Island Housing,” explained Representative David Cicilline (D-RI).
At the event, seniors, caregivers, and adults with disabilities will have the opportunity to learn more about products and resources available to them.
“It’s a great event to really learn about programs that are available to help seniors and persons with disabilities,” Cicilline added.
The event is free and is open to the public. It’s being held at the East Providence Senior Center, located at 610 Waterman Avenue from 5-7 p.m on Tuesday, June 30.
Caseworkers from Cicilline’s office will also be on-site to assist with any requests attendees may have.
