Pawtucket, R.I. – Ryan Hanigan was on base three times and Carlos Peguero broke a tie with a two-run single in the seventh inning that keyed the PawSox’ 5-3 win over the Rochester Red Wings on Tuesday night at McCoy Stadium.
Hanigan, batting third as the designated hitter, had two singles, walked and scored a run in a game that featured two rain delays. Carlos Peguero’s two-run single made a winner of Dalier Hinojosa, who had relieved Keith Couch in the top of the seventh after the Red Wings had tied the game. Couch – who had not allowed a hit in his first six innings – was lifted with two outs in the frame.
Jackie Bradley, Jr. had three hits, walked, stole a base, drove in one run, scored the go-ahead tally and made a spectacular leaping grab. Deven Marrero had three hits, including an RBI single.
The Red Wings (36-34) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second with an unearned run. Danny Ortiz reached on a two-base error and moved to third on a groundout. Reynaldo Rodriguez then belted a screaming line drive to left-centerfield. Bradley, Jr. raced into the gap, leapt and made a fabulous catch – though Ortiz scored on the play.
After the PawSox (35-37) began the second with an Humberto Quintero single, Marrero doubled to put runners at second and third. Mike Miller then lifted a sacrifice fly to center that made it 1-1. With one out, Bradley drilled a double to left and the PawSox led 2-1.

Eric Fryer led off the top of the seventh with the Wings’ first hit of the game. Danny Ortiz popped out before Oswaldo Arcia singled to put runners at the corners. Reynaldo Rodriguez then hit a grounder into the hole at short; because he barely stayed out of a double play, Fryer scored and it was 3-2. Rodriguez scored to tie the game when Wilkin Ramirez doubled to the left-field wall.
Rochester starter Greg Peavey was left in the game to start he seventh and face Bradley, Jr, who ripped his third hit of the evening off of the righthander. Ryan O’Rourke was the summoned, and walked Quintin Berry. Righthander Lester Oliveiros then came out of the ‘pen; he walked Hanigan and allowed Peguero’s go-ahead single. Caleb Thielbar became the fourth pitcher of the inning and was standing on the mound with two outs and a 1-2 count to Humberto Quintero when lightning prompted a rain delay that lasted an hour and 29 minutes.
