Bristol man sentenced to federal prison for possessing child porn

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Bristol man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for possessing and distributing child pornography, U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha announced Tuesday.

According to a news release from Neronha’s office, Matthew Antignano, 32, pleaded guilty to both charges in April 2015, after being arrested in July 2014.

Antignano was arrested last summer following an investigation by the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which discovered more than 7,000 images and 180 videos of child pornography on his computer.

He will also serve 10 years of supervised release following his prison term.
