Itinerary for Pope Francis’ visit to Cuba, US in September

Pope Francis will make his first visit to the United States on Sept. 20, making stops in Washington, DC, New York City and Philadelphia. Before arriving in America, he will also visit Cuba.

Here’s an itinerary of what’s planned for the pontiff’s historic trip.

Saturday, September 19

10:15 a.m. ET: Leaves Rome for Havana, Cuba.

4 p.m. ET: Arrives at Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport.

4:05 p.m. ET: Welcoming ceremony.

Sunday, September 20

9 a.m. ET: Mass at the Revolution Square in Havana.

4 p.m. ET: Meets with government officials at Palace of the Revolution.

5:15 p.m. ET: Celebrations of vespers with priests and seminarians at the Havana Cathedral.

6:30 p.m. ET: Greetings to youth at Centro Cultural Padre Félix Varela.

Monday, September 21

8 a.m. ET: Leaves Havana for Holguin, Cuba.

9:20 a.m. ET: Arrives at Frank País International Airport.

10:30 a.m. ET: Holy Mass at Revolution Plaza.

3:45 p.m. ET: Blessing of the city from the Loma de La Cruz.

4:40 p.m. ET: Flies to Santiago, Cuba.

5:30 p.m. ET: Arrives at Antonio Maceo International Airport in Santiago.

7 p.m. ET: Meets with bishops at St. Basil the Great Seminary.

7:45 p.m. ET: Prayer to Our Lady of Charity with the bishops and papal entourage at the Minor Basilica of the Shrine of Our Lady of Charity del Cobre.

Tuesday, September 22

8 a.m. ET: Mass at the Minor Basilica of the Shrine of Our Lady of Charity del Cobre.

11 a.m. ET: Meets with families at Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral in Santiago.

12:15 p.m. ET: Farewell ceremony at the airport.

12:30 p.m ET: Leaves for Washington, D.C.

4 p.m. ET: Arrives at Andrews Air Force Base and attends welcoming ceremony.

Wednesday, September 23

9:15 a.m. ET: Welcoming ceremony at the South Lawn of the White House.

11:30 a.m. ET: Meets with bishops at St. Matthew’s Cathedral.

4:15 p.m. ET: Mass and canonization of Junipero Serra at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

Thursday, September 24

9:20 a.m. ET: Address to Congress.

11:15 a.m. ET: Visits Charitable Center of St. Patrick Catholic Church and meets with the homeless.

4 p.m. ET: Leaves for New York.

5 p.m. ET: Arrives at JFK Airport in New York.

6:45 p.m. ET: Evening prayers at St Patrick’s Cathedral in New York.

Friday, September 25

8:30 a.m. ET: Address to the U.N. General Assembly.

11:30 a.m. ET: Visits ground zero memorial.

4 p.m. ET: Visits Our Lady Queen of the Angels school and meets with families of migrants in Harlem.

6 p.m. ET: Mass at Madison Square Garden.

8:40 a.m. ET: Leaves for Philadelphia.
