Wareham man arrives at New Bedford hospital with gunshot wound

NEW BEDFORD, M.A. (WPRI) – New Bedford police responded to St. Luke’s Sunday morning regarding a gunshot victim at the hospital, according to Detective Captain Steven Vincente.

Officers arrived on scene at approximately 1:30am to find a 23-year-old Wareham man with a gunshot wound.

The victim told the officers he was riding his bicycle close to home when he stopped to text a friend, and was subsequently shot in the right arm.

He was uncooperative at the hospital, but was treated and released, according to Captain Vicente.

It is still not known exactly where the incident took place.
