New Bedford to spray for mosquitoes Thursday

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — The Bristol County Mosquito Control Project will conduct targeted ground spraying early Thursday morning in New Bedford.

The areas that will be targeted are Buttonwood Park, Brooklawn Park, Fort Taber, Hazelwood Park, Riverside Park, Clasky Park, Ashley Park, the Poor Farm area and Madeira Avenue.

Spraying will take place between 2 a.m. and sunrise, weather permitting.

Residents in the vicinity of the targeted areas may want to close their windows Wednesday evening.

Residents can request a ground spray by calling the Bristol County Mosquito Control Project at (508) 823-5253 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. or by e-mail.
