North Smithfield bank robbed; police seek ID of suspect

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — North Smithfield police are working to identify a suspect after a bank was robbed in the town Monday morning.

The man held up the Bank of America in Slatersville Plaza at about 11:30 a.m., according to police.

He passed a note to the teller that said he had a gun, but no weapon was shown.

Police said the man may have fled in a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
