Described as the largest Portuguese feast on the planet, the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament is returning to New Bedford for the 101st consecutive year. Organizers say they expect more than 100,000 people – some from New England; others, from around the world – to flock to Massachusetts to attend the event.
The event features four consecutive days of non-stop entertainment. All weekend long, thousands of guests will enjoy authentic Madeiran food and drinks, star-studded performances, family-friendly activities, and – on Sunday – the Feast will conclude with a parade.
The feast’s hours are as follows:
- Thursday, July 30 – 6 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- Friday, July 31 – 12 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- Saturday, August 1 – 12 p.m. – 12 a.m.
- Sunday, August 2 – 12 p.m. – 12 a.m.
WPRI 12 and FOX Providence are once again proud sponsors of the Portuguese Feast. We will have cameras and news crews in New Bedford all weekend, and you be able to find full coverage, including photo galleries, testimonials and live reports, right here on this page.
