Portuguese food keeps crowds coming back to New Bedford’s feast

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — The New Bedford Feast of the Blessed Sacrament is filled with Portuguese culture, tradition, entertainment, and dance – but it’s the food and drink that many say keeps them coming back for more.

Madeira wine and carne de espeto are two perennial favorites at the feast that keep the patrons coming back year after year.

Eyewitness News Anchor Shannon Hegy was at the festival Thursday, tasting the food and talking to all the people that love it.
