Health officials reopen Goddard Memorial State Park Beach

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — State health officials have reopened Warwick’s Goddard Memorial State Park Beach to swimming after it was closed for about 24 hours.

The health department recommended the beach close Thursday after high bacteria counts were found in the water.

The agency regularly monitors the water at state beaches, and said Friday that bacteria levels at Goddard are back to normal and it’s safe to swim.

The status of each beach can change on a daily basis. Check our Beach Closings Database for regular updates.
