DOUGLAS, Mass. (AP) — The family of a Massachusetts high school football player who died of a heart attack during a game several years ago has lost another son.
Douglas Police Chief Patrick Foley tells the Telegram & Gazette that 18-year-old Timothy Ellsessar, of Sutton, drowned on Wednesday.
Foley says crews were dispatched to Lake Manchaug around 7:45 p.m. where they found Ellsessar unresponsive. He was taken to Harrington Hospital where he died.
Ellsessar and friends were swimming to the bottom of the lake, about 20 feet deep at that point. Ellsessar told friends he was feeling dizzy after he came up, then he started to sink.
The Ellsessar family lost their 16-year-old son, Michael, to a heart attack during a football game in 2010.
The death remains under investigation.
