PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WPRI) – Rescuers had to free a man from a car wreck using the jaws of life Saturday morning.
Plainville police said the crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the area of 64 George Street. Officers found an Acura RSX on its side in the woods off the side of the road. The driver was conscious and alert but couldn’t get out of the car, so Plainville firefighters had to free him from the wreck.
The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
Police said that the Acura was apparently speeding on the narrow road before losing control, sliding off the edge of the road and rolling over, finally coming to rest against a tree.
