Police K-9 training comes to Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Police K-9 units from across Southern New England were in Providence Monday.

Eyewitness News got an inside look as 26 teams from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut practiced their response at the Amtrak Station.

The training took the teams into the buildings and onto trains – testing their searching skills for narcotics and explosives.

Monday’s seminar was meant to prepare the dogs for what they will experience in real life scenarios.
