Armed robbers target two women walking in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — Police are trying to identify two armed robbers who targeted a pair of women in New Bedford Tuesday night.

Police say one of the crooks was armed with a gun, the other with a knife, when they robbed two young women who were walking near the intersection of Hillman and Foster Streets.

The robbers made off with a backpack containing one of the women’s wallet, iPad, and iPhone. Neither woman was hurt.

The suspects are described as thin, white men wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts. One was about six feet tall, the other was shorter.
