NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — On Friday night, the Rhode Island DUI Task Force began its stepped up patrols for Labor Day weekend.
Between 10:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., police say they arrested 17 impaired drivers. 7 others were arrested for possession of alcohol by a minor. Police also took two people into custody for driving with suspended licenses, and another person was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
So far, authorities say there have been no serious accidents this holiday weekend as a result of drunk driving.
