Q&A: Centracchio on security for Pope Francis’ visit

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Eyewitness News analyst Lt. Gen. Reginald Centracchio joined us Wednesday to discuss the massive security plan that’s in place ahead of Pope Francis’ visit to America.

The general said he’s not surprised that Homeland Security and the Secret Service are the two agencies heading up security, and touched upon his concerns for the pope’s safety.

Also, Centracchio talked about his conversation with Rhode Island State Police on a proposal to allow Syrian immigrants into Rhode Island and the possible costs for local cities and towns.
