Officials ID victim of Westerly boat crash

WESTERLY, R.I. (WPRI) — A Connecticut man whose body was pulled from the water off the coast of Westerly Tuesday has been identified.

The remains of Walter S. Krupinski, 81, of Stonington, were recovered following a crash between his 22-foot boat and a 60-foot boat near Watch Hill Point, according to the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Officials said the operator of the second boat was not injured.
