Dogs saved from Warren fire

WARREN, R.I. (WPRI) — A Warren family was forced from their home by flames late Saturday night.

One woman was taken to the hospital from the Vernon Street house for smoke inhalation. She is expected to be alright.

Fire Chief Alexander Galinelli tells Eyewitness News three dogs were saved from the home. The third dog was found hiding in a rear bedroom. When firefighters got the animal outside, it was given oxygen with a specialized mask. Crews transported the dog in a rescue vehicle to the animal hospital in Swansea, where it is said to be in good condition.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
