ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) – Massachusetts State Police say a woman crashed her car Sunday morning after falling asleep at the wheel.

The wreck happened on I-95 Southbound in Attleboro at about 7:45 a.m.

According to State Police, the woman, a 23 year-old Providence woman, apparently fell asleep at the wheel, drifted off the road and crashed her 2015 Subaru into the attenuator at the beginning of a guardrail.

Troopers said that the wreck could have been worse had the car collided with a tree or another vehicle.
