Brady-taunting blimp to fly over Indy for Patriots game

INDIANAPOLIS (WPRI) — Had Tom Brady served out his four-game suspension, his first game back would’ve been Oct. 18 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Next Sunday’s matchup also marks the first contest between the two teams since last year’s AFC Championship, from which sprang the Deflategate saga and Brady’s eventual suspension, which was thrown out by a judge last month.

Colts fans did not take that decision or the team’s 45-7 loss in January lightly, and evidence of that will be flying over Indianapolis when the Patriots come to town.

Following an online fundraising campaign by fans, an area advertising company will be flying one of their helium balloons over Lucas Oil Stadium sporting the phrase “#DeflateThisBrady,” aiming to taunt the reigning Super Bowl MVP.

A Twitter account has also be set up for the blimp.

The GoFundMe page where the donations were collected is no longer available.

The NFL has filed an appeal of Judge Richard Berman’s decision, however the federal appeals court said the earliest they would hear oral arguments in the case is Feb. 1.

The Patriots will take on the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday at 4:25 p.m. Kickoff for the game against the Colts the following Sunday is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
