PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — In response to a recall by New Frontier Foods, Stop & Shop announced Tuesday they’ve pulled Ocean’s Halo Gluten-Free Seaweed Chips from shelves.

The chips were recalled because they may contain wheat, which is not listed on the label. Wheat is an allergen that could trigger a serious or life-threatening reaction if consumed by a person with an allergy or severe sensitivity to it.

Stop & Shop has not received any reports of illnesses to date, and said the products are safe to consume for those who do not suffer from a wheat allergy.

The following products are included in the recall:

  • Ocean’s Halo Organic Seaweed Chip, Sea Salt, 2.5 oz., UPC 85189900517, lot numbers 082416, 091416, 091516 and 091616
  • Ocean’s Halo Organic Seaweed Chip, Chili Lime, 2.5 oz., UPC 85189900519, lot number 091716

Consumers who have purchased the chips should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Stop & Shop for a full refund. For more information, call New Frontier Foods at 888-767-2035 or Stop & Shop Customer Service at 1-800-767-7772.
