PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Providence baby born with a rare brain disorder is “comfortable and peaceful” after suffering from a seizure.
Family members of Angela Morales posted an update on her condition to Facebook on Friday, saying the 18-month-old had not been responding to seizure medication.
Angela suffers from a rare birth defect called anencephaly.
Most babies diagnosed with the disorder only live for a few minutes after birth.

But Angela kept living, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, defying every odd possible. In the weeks after her birth, the family ate a birthday cake every day to celebrate, not knowing if Angela would live to see the next day.
Now, her parents say she is in good hands with her medical team.
