Crews respond to house fire on Oxford Street

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Crews knocked down a fire in Providence Saturday night.

Fire officials say smoke was first seen on the second flood of a home on Oxford Street.

Two people were treated for minor injuries at the scene and five firefighters were treated for injuries caused by falling debris, officials said.

The Red Cross said it is now helping three adults and two children because damage to the home was extensive.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
