NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — It’s a happy Wednesday for doughnut lovers in Rhode Island, as Allie’s Donuts has re-opened, just in time for Halloween.

The local business closed for about four weeks for state-mandated construction. On their Facebook page, the company said “construction isn’t quite complete, but we needed to open up for all of you that have gone without your ‘Allie’s fix’ in October!”

Open since 1968, Allie’s is known for their fresh made doughnuts and large doughnut cakes. They’re so popular, the cakes need to be ordered weeks, or even months in advance.

Workers start in the early hours to hand cut thousands of doughnuts each day, and many don’t mind standing in line to get their hands on the decades old treat.

In fact, doors re-open at 5 a.m. on Wednesday. Get’em while they’re hot!
