Warwick police searching for Marine to reunite him with wallet

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) – The Warwick Police Department is asking the public for help tracking down the rightful owner of a misplaced wallet.

A brand new, black U.S. Marine Corps wallet containing a large amount of money was found in the McDonald’s restaurant on Bald Hill Road on Valentine’s Day 2014.

City police attempted to locate the owner at the time, but were unsuccessful. They decided Wednesday to reopen the case and post the information on their Facebook page, which has since gotten more than 800 shares.

The only other contents inside the wallet were a Parris Island boot camp graduation picture and U.S. Marine Corps challenge coin.Warwick Marine lost wallet

Police said the information suggests the Marine recently graduated from boot camp and may have been home in Rhode Island on leave.

Warwick police are asking for help identifying the Marine so they can return his property and money. Anyone with information on his identity is asked to call police at (401) 468-4243.
