Average weekly Rhode Island gas prices fall again

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Gas prices in Rhode Island have fallen again and are down to an average $2.14 per gallon for regular unleaded.

A weekly survey conducted by AAA Northeast on Monday finds the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded fell 3 cents from last week.

The Rhode Island average is 5 cents less than the national average of $2.19 per gallon.

It’s also 96 cents lower than at this same time last year, when the average price was $3.10 per gallon.

AAA’s Lloyd Albert says prices are expected to continue to fall as the year ends.

The lowest average price for gas this year in Rhode Island was $2.08 per gallon in February.
