PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island law students are teaming up with seasoned attorneys to offer renewed hope to military veterans.
Students at Roger Williams University School of Law will help provide free legal service to vets seeking disability benefits, officials announced Monday.
Sen. Jack Reed said he is thankful the community can help veterans.
“This clinic is going to be there every day of the year for our veterans,” he said. “A generation of Americans that have not only served but ensured those who served enjoy the benefits that they’ve earned is going to be continued by what we’re doing.”
The program will provide students with hands-on experience in the federal court system – while also providing necessary legal services to the local veterans’ community.
